The invariable mark of wisdom is to see the miraculous in the common. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

today open your eyes and your mind and look at all the miracles in your life. start with that most miraculous of all - yourself! look at your fingers, how they miraculously move and bend and grasp (and type!), look at your wrists, how you can turn and twist them, look at your eyes, those which are looking and think of your brain, that which is thinking. we are nothing but miracles. look, see, wonder, smile, enjoy!

Frank Baum imagined a Kansas girl being swept by tornado to a faraway land where she meets a wizard. But Baum needed a title for his tale.
Serendipity struck one afternoon as he was filing paperwork.
“My gaze was caught by the gilt letters on the three drawers of the filing cabinet,” Baum later wrote. “The first was A-G. The next drawer was labeled H-N. And on the last one were the letters O-Z.”

If you have an apple and I have an apple and we exchange these apples, then you and I will still each have one apple. But if you have an idea and I have an idea and we exchange those ideas, then each of us will have two ideas. ~ George Bernard Shaw

Ink is handicapped, in a way, because you can blow up a man with gunpowder in half a second, while it may take twenty years to blow him up with a book. But the gunpowder destroys itself along with its victim, while a book can keep on exploding for centuries. ~ Christopher Morley, writer (1890-1957)
